Whistler 2026

February 14, 2026 - February 21, 2026

Overview

The last time I was in Whistler was when Nolan and I traveled up there for a summer freestyle ski camp on the Horstman Glacier with Momentum Camps. He would ski with his coach during the day, and I would work and enjoy the outdoors around the Whistler area. While it's beautiful in the summer, I can't wait to get back this ski week (which may be the last one we take as a family as Nolan will be entering high school). I'm looking forward to skiing at Whistler. But I'm also excited to explore Vancouver and Whistler with another family who will be up at the same time as us.

Where to Stay

Pan Pacific Mountainside

Whistler Village

Slopeside hotel with hot tub / pool overlooking the main skier plaza / lifts at Whistler. Easy access with private locker room for skis. Breakfast room service from the Irish pub downstairs (Dubh Linn Gate). Noise from the neighboring bars (Saloon, etc) can be an issue but that tends to quiet down by 10p. Rooms are a little bit tired, but beds are comfortable.

Where to Eat

Din Tai Fung

Ansley is on a mission to visit every DTF in the world. This one is located in a vibrant shopping district. Very dependable place for XLB (though I will note that these weren't as good as the ones in Taipei)! We sat on the outside patio, and while it was cold outside, the patio was heated and enclosed (and almost too hot).

Alta Bistro

We only stopped in for a quick drink this time, but the cocktails were great. Garnish all dried in house from local produce. I would love to come back here for dinner sometime.

Wild Blue

Whistler Village (Across from Aava Hotel)

Probably my favorite meal of the trip. Pacific Northwest cuisine. Amazing raw bar options to start. Great cocktails. Mains were really good.

Mongolie Grill

Fun mongolian barbecue restaurant. You get a bowl, pick your ingredients and sauces, then hand it all over to a griddle chef to cook for you. Watch out how much you put in your bowl. It adds up quickly! Good for families.

Sushi Village

Whistler Village (Inside Sundial Hotel)

Fun sushi restaurant with tatami rooms. Sushi was decent. Wait staff was awesome.

Araxi

Owned by TopTable, this is one of the best restaurants in Whistler. Serving Pacific Northwest cuisine.

Balam

Decent Latin American restaurant. We went for lunch so it was pretty easy to get in. Limited reservations - most tables are reserved for walk in. Very heavy on decor. Ceviches were pretty good. The homemade taro chips were tasty.
